Çamlıca Mosque
Üsküdar / İstanbul (2018-2020)
Çamlıca Mosque is one of the most prominent contemporary mosque complexes in Türkiye, combining monumental architecture with large-scale public circulation. The lighting strategy was developed to preserve spatial hierarchy while supporting visual comfort in both worship and transition zones.
Interior luminance levels were balanced to protect the calm character of prayer areas while still providing sufficient clarity for educational and social-use spaces. Fixture positions and beam spreads were coordinated with architectural rhythm to avoid visual clutter.
Exterior and landscape lighting were designed as a unified layer so that the mosque remains legible from long urban viewpoints while maintaining a respectful nighttime atmosphere in the surrounding precinct.
